Bicycles with a Heart
Sculptor Josh Hadar super streamlined pedal cruisers has transcended the traditional concept of bicycles.
Employing a variety of metal working techniques exclusive to him, he produces his bikes in a Manhattan studio the size of two car garages on Broom Street. The “Eric’s Teardrop” ” Little Cub”" Mother” and ” Baby “bikes are provided with hand blown glass gas tanks, some look like a human heart, set inside steel rib-cages reflecting the simplest man made natural models of locomotion.
Each vehicle is custom designed according the owners body measurements and made to-order adornments. Plated nickel,bronze,copper, gold and silver are the material used for this 12000 to 35000 us dollars bikes . The delivery time can take up to three months.
His thoughts : “What I love about metal sculpting and welding is that there is no standard building methods or techniques required to attain a desired result.” - “Like watching a film of an explosion run backwards, ideas, shapes and building techniques seem to come from total chaos and settle in one place….. ”
Wherever Josh inspirations are coming from, the privilege of having a gas tank in a precious ” Mother Heart” is simply a luxury one’s heart can’t avoid!
